169 The Hardest and Best Year of My Recovery

I used to believe that the longer I stayed sober the easier things would get. What I realized in 2021 was that things can get a lot more difficult but what has changed is my ability to handle whatever life throws at me. In fact, 2021 was by far the most challenging year I have experienced yet. That being said, I can safely say it's also been the best year of my recovery and the most rewarding considering what I have had the resilience to move through. My resilience is getting stronger, my emotional intelligence has increased and I realize that I can endure a lot more than I previously thought. These are just some of the gifts of recovery.
